The Non-Conference Schedule for Villanova Men’s Basketball

Villanova announced the men’s basketball non-conference schedule on August 15. The Wildcats will participate in events such as the Gavitt Games, Battle 4 Atlantis, the Big East / Big 12 Battle, and the Philadelphia Big Five Classic.

Maryland will come to the Pavilion on November 17 as part of the Gavitt Games. Over the Thanksgiving weekend the Wildcats will be looking for another Battle 4 Atlantis championship. Nova takes on Texas Tech in their first game, and a victory will pair them up with the winner of the UNI vs. North Carolina game. The Wildcats are a two-time championship victor. UCLA comes to the Wells Fargo Center on December 9. Villanova played at UCLA in 2021. The Bruins claimed an 86 – 77 overtime win on the Pauley Pavilion court.

A road trip to Manhattan, KS is in the Big East / Big 12 Battle as Nova meets Kansas State

The Big Five schedule starts on November 13 when Villanova travels to the Palestra to play Penn in their initial pod game. The Wildcats host the Hawks of Saint Joseph’s on November 29 as their other pod game. The city series culminates with the Big Five Classic on December 2 at the Wells Fargo Center.

Other non-conference opponents include American on November 6 at the Pavilion, then a home game versus Lemoyne four days later. The season opener with American marks the 12th meeting between the schools. The Wildcats won a 2009 NCAA Tournament first round game 80 – 67 in their last meeting.

Villanova expects to announce their 20-game Big East schedule in mid-September.
