The La Salle Explorers and Saint Joseph’s Hawks split a pair of Sunday women’s spring games with both winners doing so on their opponents field. The significant number 19 in this game represents the highest number of goals scored by Saint Joseph’s and the largest number of scores allowed by La Salle. In four of their last five games the Hawks post a victory. Hawks attacker Lauren Figura set an individual team-high for most goals scored in a single game getting 6, with 2 in a player-down situation.

La Salle scored the first goal of the game when Allison Hunter converted. Saint Joe’s put in the next 9 to take control of the game. Both of Figura’s goals with a player-disadvantage happened in that stretch, and were back-to-back within less that a minute of one another.

In draw controls La Salle had the advantage by a 19 – 10 margin. But turnovers proved costly as the Explorers had 15 to 6 by the Hawks.

For SJU Bridget Cerciello scored 4 goals and assisted twice. Sophia Kolkka registered 3 goals and 2 assists. Goal Keeper Amber Weedon made 9 saves.

Annina Iocobucci led LSU with 3 goals and 2 assists.

Saint Joseph’s improves to 7 – 5 overall and 4 – 1 in the Atlantic 10. La Salle posts a 3 – 7 overall record, 1 – 4 in the league.

I was a tough battle in rainy conditions that was decided by an own goal. The golden goal came off a corner kick in the 62nd minute. Saint Joseph’s fought back trying to get the equalizer. With less than 30 seconds to play Hawks midfielder Natalie Nevins let a shot go, but Explorers goal keeper Jordynn Stallard made the save. That critical stop was one of two overall for Stallard.

Saint Joseph’s concludes the season with a 3 – 8 – 2 record, 2 – 5- 1 in the league.

La Salle is 7 – 2, and 4 – 2 in the Atlantic 10 and is on a two-game winning streak. The Explorers await their fate for league post-season play.
