La Salle Record Season Ends In NCAA Women’s Soccer

It was quite a season for the La Salle Explorers women’s soccer team, however it came to an end with a 3 – 1 loss to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in an NCAA first round game in Piscataway.  La Salle ended the season with at 17 – 4 – 2 record, tying the 2011 team for most wins in a season.

The Scarlet Knights took a 2 – 0 lead with a pair of goals in the first ten minutes of play in the latter stanza.  The span of scores came within just under four and half minutes of one another.

Madison Bower got the Explorers to within 2 – 1 with her 11th goal of the season in the 65th minute.

Rutgers got the insurance goal 15 minutes later.

The Scarlet Knights had an 11 – 3 edge in shots on goal.
