Sydney Stipanovich led the Red and Blue to two impressive Ivy League wins. In the game against Dartmouth Stipanovich recorded her third straight double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Against Harvard Stipanovich led the Penn defense against the Crimson offense with 9 blocked shots. She nearly recorded a triple-double as Stipanovich had 15 points and 9 rebounds to go along with the blocked shots.

Results – Lost 56 – 39 vs. Richmond at the Gola Arena, Lost 53 – 43 at Saint Louis
Summary –
Richmond 56 La Salle 39 – Shooting woes plagued the Explorers in the second half making just 6 of 29 (20.7%). Alicia Cropper and Jasmine Alston led La Salle with 11 points each.
Saint Louis 53 La Salle 43 – Fouls hurt the Explorers committing 26 total fouls in the loss. Saint Louis was 20 -31 from the foul line while La Salle was 9 for 16. Alicia Cropper scored a game-high 22 points and Michaya Owens contributed 12 points.

PENN 12 – 5 Overall, 2 – 1 Ivy League, 2 – 2 Big Five
Results – Won 71 – 53, Won 67 – 38 vs. Harvard both at the Palestra
Summary –
Penn 71 Dartmouth 53 – A 15 – 0 run in the first half gave the Red and Blue control of the game as Penn won their third straight game. Sydney Stipanovich recorded her third straight double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Alyssa Baron handed out her 300th career assist.
Penn 67 Harvard 38 – The Red and Blue dominated the Crimson who entered the game second in the league in scoring. Penn held Harvard to 18.1% shooting (13 -71) and under 50 points in the first time in series history. Sydney Stipanovich recorded a near triple-double with 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 blocked shots. Kara Bonenberger has a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. The backcourt of Meghan McCullough and Alyssa Baron scored 11 points each and combined for 9 assists. Penn has been victorious in four consecutive games.

Results – Lost 69 – 65 vs. Saint Louis, Won 70 -51 vs. VCU both at the Hagan Arena
Summary –
Saint Louis 69 Saint Joseph’s 65 – The Hawks shot 32.2% from the field and had their four game winning streak snapped in the process. Natasha Cloud and Sarah Fairbanks recorded double-doubles with 15 points and 11 rebounds each. Cloud also added 6 assists. Ilze Gotfrida posted double figures scoring 10 points.
Saint Joseph’s 70 VCU 51 – Erin Shields scored a season-high 27 points as the Hawks avenged an early season loss to the Rams. Saint Joe’s out-scored VCU 41 – 18 in the second half. The Rams shot 20.6% (7 – 34) in the second half. Natasha Cloud filled the stat sheet scoring 12 points, pulling down a game-high 9 rebounds, handing out 5 assists, and 3 steals. Sarah Fairbanks scored 13 points.

TEMPLE 10 – 11 Overall, 4 – 6 AAC, 1 – 3 Big Five
Results – Lost 93 – 56 vs. #1 Connecticut at McGonigle Hall, Lost 85 – 75 at SMU
Summary –
#1 Connecticut 93 Temple 56 – Before a record crowd at McGonigle Hall the Owls fell to the top-ranked Huskies. Temple took a 23 – 22 lead with 8:50 remaining in the first half before UConn went on an 11 – 0 run to end the half. In the second half UConn continued to build on the lead. Breanna Stewart scored a career-high 37 points for Connecticut and Stephanie Dolson recorded a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds. Rateska Brown was the only Temple player in double figures scoring 13 points off the bench.
SMU 85 Temple 75 – The Owls and Mustangs were locked up in a tight game until the 8:30 mark when SMU went on a 15 – 0 run over 6 minutes to take control and get the win. Tyonna Williams led Temple scoring 18 points on a career-high 6 made three-pointers. Natasha Thames and Rateska Brown added 15 points each.

VILLANOVA 16 – 5 Overall, 6 – 4 Big East, 3 – 1 Big Five
Results – Won 59 – 49 at Georgetown, Won 68 – 54 vs. Creighton at the Pavilion
Summary –
Villanova 59 Georgetown 49 – The Wildcats turned a one-point game into a 32 – 15 halftime lead behind a 19 -3 run over a 7:01 span. Georgetown would get no closer than 7 points the rest of the way. Emily Leer led Villanova with 11 points. Lauren Burford, Devon Kane, and Caroline Coyer scored 10 points each.
Villanova 68 Creighton 54 – The Wildcats shot 52.2% (26 – 46) from the field and made 6 of 20 from beyond the arc (30%) and used the impressive offensive performance to avenge an earlier defeat to Creighton. Caroline Coyer led four double figures scorers for the Wildcats 19 points and added 6 assists. Taylor Holeman and Devon Kane added 14 points apiece. Lauren Burford contributed 10 points.

DREXEL 10 – 10 Overall, 5 – 2 CAA
Results – Won 66 – 42 vs. William & Mary, Lost 68 – 66 vs. Hofstra both at the DAC
Summary –
Drexel 66 William & Mary 42 – The Dragons held the Tribe to 42 points, a season-low for Drexel opponents. Rachael Pearson led all-scorers with 15 points, all in the first half. Tory Thierolf scored a career-high 13 points on 6 of 7 shooting. The Dragons never trailed in the contest.
