PHILLY COLLEGE WOMEN’S SOCCER WEEK IN REVIEW
Each of the teams are in the midst of their non-conference schedule. La Salle posted two straight wins including a 1 – 0 victory at St. John’s. It was the first time in program history that the Explorers defeated the Red Storm. Maci Bower got the golden goal. Goal keeper Claudia Jenkins recorded a career-high 10 saves in Florida. Breukelen Woodard scored in both games for Penn who got a tie and a win in games against Fairfield and Mount Saint Mary’s. Saint Joseph’s had their two-game winning streak broken in a loss at Pittsburgh. The defense remains strong as Emily Curcio saved 6 shots in Western Pennsylvania. Villanova got a win over city rival Temple on North Broad Street. Over the week the Wildcats goal keeper Hensley Hancuff posted a clean slate in both wins. Drexel came back from the west coast with a tie and a loss in their road trip. This week Temple visits Maryland and Villanova hosts Florida State in games of note. Saint Joe’s will travel to Upper Manhattan to face Columbia. La Salle, Saint Joseph’s, and Villanova all have a record of 3 – 2 – 1, while Penn is 2 – 1 – 1 and Drexel is 2 – 2 – 1.

Summary – Lauren Curry scored her third goal of the season against Loyola Marymount.

Summary – Maci Bower scored two goals over the week giving her a team-best three for the campaign. Kayla Miller-People assisted twice in game action.

Summary – Dakota Mills converted a penalty kick in the 84th minute to give the Hawks a win over the Dukes. Emily Curcio made 6 saves in Pittsburgh.

Summary – Goal Keeper Morgan Basileo recorded a shutout and saved 16 shots on goal over the two games, 9 in the scoreless draw against Lehigh.
