La Salle Conference Wins Atlantic 10 Regular Season Gets #1 Seed In Conference Tournament, Drexel Takes Second Place in CAA, Saint Joseph’s 7th Seed In A-10

DREXEL 11 – 6 – 1 Overall, 6 – 2 – 1 CAA
Results – Lost 2 – 1 (OT) at James Madison University, Won 4 – 0 at Elon
Summary – It was a CAA split for the Dragons who gave up an overtime goal in the 96th minute by Brittany Borum. Drexel bounced back with a needed shutout win at Elon to clinch second place in the conference. Madison Dunn got the scoring started in the 21st minute. The Dragons go into CAA Tournament play winning 5 of their last 6 games.

LA SALLE 14 – 3 – 2 Overall, 9 – 0 – 1 Atlantic 10
Results – Tied 2 – 2 (2 OT) at George Mason; Won 1 – 0 vs. VCU at McCarthy Stadium
Summary – La Salle is the Atlantic 10 Regular Season Champions. The Explorers fought back to get a tie at George Mason when Danielle Marx got the equalizer with 50 seconds remaining in regulation. Marx scored again in the season finale against VCU to keep an unbeaten league record for La Salle. The Explorers are the #1 seed in the conference tournament.

PENN – 5 – 6 – 3 Overall, 3 – 1 – 1 Ivy League
Results – Won 3 – 1 vs. Yale at Rhodes Field
Summary – The University of Pennsylvania scored three straight goals, two by Sasha Stephens, in the win over Yale. All of the Penn goals were posted in the second half. The Quakers are in third place in the Ivy League, one point ahead of next week’s opponent Brown. The Red and Blue are two points behind second place Princeton and five in back of league leading Columbia.

SAINT JOSEPH’S 10 – 5 – 3 Overall, 5 – 3 – 2 Atlantic 10
Result – Won 2 – 1 (2 OT) vs. Fordham at Sweeney Field, Won 2 – 1 at Saint Bonaventure
Summary – Behind a pair of 2 – 1 victories the Hawks climbed into the seventh seed for the upcoming Atlantic 10 Tournament. Taylor Ryan got the golden goal in the 109th minute against the Rams. Morgan Bower posted both scores at Saint Bonaventure. Saint Joe’s travels to Saint Louis for their conference opening round game.

TEMPLE 6 – 9 – 2 Overall, 2 – 5 – 1 American
Results – Lost 3 – 1 at USF, Lost 3 – 1 at #7/8 UCF
Summary – The Owls fell victim to two 3 – 1 losses in Florida. Morgan Basileo recorded 7 saves at South Florida. Morgan Glassford got the Temple goal at Central Florida. Gabrielle McKeown got the assist and leads the team in points with 11. The Cherry and White is in 8th place in the American, leading Tulsa by 3 points and 2 behind Houston.

VILLANOVA 6 – 11 – 0 Overall, 2 – 6 – 0 Big East
Results – Lost 2 – 1 vs. St. John’s, Lost 6 – 3 vs. DePaul both at the Higgins Soccer Complex
Summary – The Wildcats dropped their final two home games, and have five straight losses. Against the Red Storm Bri Austin scored her first goal of the season in the 67th minute. Emily Harris turned in a career-high 6 saves in the game. Villanova got three goals against the Blue Demons; 2 by Emily Kuefler and another by Kristin Barbour. The season concludes for Nova at Butler.
