Saint Joseph’s and Villanova Posts Overtime Wins

Results – Tied 0 – 0 (2 OT) vs. William and Mary at Vidas Field
Summary – The Dragons earned a point in the CAA by tying the Tribe. Goal keeper Jacob Jordan had a season-high 7 saves, 5 came after halftime. It was the 4th career shutout for Jordan. Neil Boyal has 256 minutes played, a team-best. The freshman defender was named the Philadelphia Soccer Six Rookie of the Week.

Results – Lost 2 – 1 at Rider
Summary – Mike Liska gave the Explorers the lead, but could not overcome two first half goals by the Broncos who had an 8 – 7 edge in shots and 5 – 3 on goal.
Next Game – 9/13 vs. Saint Peter’s at McCarthy Stadium
PENN – 0 – 3 – 0 Overall, 0 – 0 – 0 Ivy League
Results – Lost 2 – 1 vs. Seton Hall at Rhodes Field
Summary – Penn got a goal from Joe Swenson in the 26th minute to take a 1 – 0 lead. Seton Hall tied the game just before intermission, then won it in the 59th minute when Andres Arcila found the back of the net. The Pirates had a 10 – 5 lead over the Quakers in shots and a 5 – 3 edge in shots on goal.

Results – Won 2 – 1 (OT) vs. Manhattan at Sweeney Field; Tied 0 – 0 (2 OT) at VMI
Summary – The Hawks player extra soccer twice during the week. Matt Mullock scored his first collegiate goal in the extra time to beat the Jaspers. Mullock was named the Philadelphia Soccer Six Co-Player of the Week. Matt Crawford tied the game in the 73rd minute. Goal keeper Greg O’Connell recorded 10 saves over the two games. He recorded the game winning goal assist against Manhattan. In the shutout draw at VMI O’Connell turned away 7 shots, and was named the Soccer Six Defender of the Week.

Results – Lost 2- 0 at St. John’s
Summary – The Red Storm took the lead in the 69th minute on a penalty kick by Alistair Johnson. St. John’s ended the scoring 4 minutes later. Temple had a 10 – 9 advantage in shots as Thibault Candia recorded three.

Results – Won 2 – 1 (2 OT) vs. Delaware at the Higgins Soccer Complex; Lost 1 – 0 at Loyola
Summary – The Wildcats got a dramatic double overtime win when Max Kroschwitz converted a penalty kick in the 107th minute. Nikkye DePoint netted his first career goal in the 16th minute. Nova fell at Loyola in the 82nd minute. Kroschwitz recorded 3 shots against the Greyhounds, and was named the Philadelphia Soccer Six Co-Player of the Week.
