Players of the Week

Talya Brugler, Saint Joseph’s who scored 30 points and took down 7 rebounds in the St. Joe’s victory over UMass. Brugler made 10 of 14 field goal attempts and sank 9 of 11 free throws in 38 minutes of play. . One basket was a three-pointer and she handed out 4 assists in playing a huge role in the SJU offense. This is her second career thirty-point game, and was 4 shy of the career-mark set last season against Davidson.

Jordan Obi

Jordan Obi, Penn who reached the 1,000 career-point milestone scoring 20 points in the University of Pennsylvania’s win over Brown. Obi became the 25th player in program history to reach that scoring mark, and was sixth fastest at Penn. The plateau reaching basket came with 8:54 on the clock in the fourth quarter on a short jumper in the paint. In that game the senior was nearly perfect shooting-wise as she made all 4 field goal attempts, including a three-point basket, and was 11 of 12 from the foul line. Obi also grabbed 13 rebounds getting her 7th double-double of the season. And Obi added 3 blocked shots. In the game the next night against Yale, the forward scored 17 points and added 7 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Obi has 30 blocks for the season which leads the Ivy League in that category.
