DREXEL 2 – 11 – 1 Overall, 1 – 5 – 0 CAA
Results – Lost 5 – 1 at Delaware
Summary – Colin McGlynn recorded the only goal for the Dragons in the loss at Delaware. The Dragons fell behind 2 – 0 and could never catch up.
Next Game – 10/20 at Loyola
LA SALLE 5 – 8 – 2 Overall, 1 – 3 – 1 Atlantic 10
Results – Tied 0 – 0 (2 OT) vs. VCU at McCarthy Stadium, Lost 5 – 0 at Dayton
Summary – The Explorers were shutout twice during the week, but did get a draw at home. In the game against VCU, La Salle had an 8 – 2 edge in shots. However, the Explorers got only 4 shots on goal in Dayton.

PENN – 2 – 8 – 1 Overall, 1 – 2 – 0 Ivy League
Results – Lost 2 – 0 at Rutgers, Lost 1 – 0 vs. Dartmouth at Rhodes Field
Summary – The University of Pennsylvania freshman goal keeper Etan Mabourakh recorded 13 saves during the week. Mabourakh was put in goal after halftime of the Rutgers game recording 135 minutes of play earning him the Soccer Six Rookie of the Week award. The Quakers had a home contest with Dartmouth that was scheduled for Saturday, but electrical problems at Rhodes Field caused the game to be moved to Sunday. Penn played Ivy Co-leader Dartmouth eye to eye, but fell on a goal with just under 2 minutes remaining in the match.

SAINT JOSEPH’S 3 – 9 – 2 Overall, 1 – 2 – 1 Atlantic 10
Results – Lost 2 – 1 at Rhode Island , Tied 1 – 1 (2 OT) vs. George Mason at Sweeney Field
Summary – The Hawks got a loss and a tie in conference play. The tie came when Tim Lazorko converted a penalty kick in the 71st minute against the Patriots. Lazorko recorded a goal and an assist during the week. Goal Keeper Bobby Edwards kept Saint Joe’s in contention as he made 13 saves in 200 minutes played, and was awarded the Philadelphia Soccer Six Defender of the Week.

TEMPLE 9 – 4 – 2 Overall, 1 – 4 – 0 AAC
Results – Won 3 – 1 vs. Columbia at the Ambler Sports Complex, Lost 2 – 0 at Tulsa
Summary – Joonas Jokinen had a productive week picking up a goal and an assist against Columbia. He registered 3 shots during the week and won the Soccer Six Player of the Week award. Carlos Moros Garcia put 3 shots on goal, one crossing the line. Jorge Gomez Sanchez had 8 shots against Tulsa, 5 on goal. The Owls concluded non-conference play. The Cherry and White have 3 more games left on their regular season schedule. Two games will be played in Ambler where the Owls sport a 6 – 1 record.

VILLANOVA 7 – 6 – 0 Overall, 2 – 3 – 0 Big East
Results – Won 2 – 1 vs. Providence , Lost 2 – 1 vs. Xavier, both at The Higgins Soccer Complex
Summary – Late goals were a friend and foe to the Wildcats. They got 2 goals in the last 11:08 to defeat Providence. Lucas Hodges tied the game in the 79th minute, then Sean Sheridan got the game winner on a penalty kick in the 88th minute. However, the Cats gave up 2 late goals to Xavier in the loss. The game-decider came with 2:17 left in regulation. John Jlopleh got the goal for an undermanned, but game Villanova squad.
