Teams Played Through Torrential Rain on Friday, Drexel and La Salle Claim A Win, Penn Ties Unbeaten Cornell

DREXEL 7 – 6 – 0 Overall, 1 – 3 – 0 CAA
Results – Won 3 – 1 vs. Towson, Lost 1 – 0 vs. James Madison both at Vidas Field
Summary – In their first home conference game the Dragons came away with a win over the Tigers, but split over the weekend losing to the Dukes. Wilhelmina Hauch-Fausboll scored two goals in the win. Over the two game span goalie Kelsie Fye made 7 saves. Against Towson Fye recorded her first win of the season.
Next Game – 10/9 at Delaware
LA SALLE 4 – 5 – 2 Overall, 1 – 1 – 0 Atlantic 10
Results – Lost 1 – 0 (2 OT) at Massachusetts, Won 1 – 0 vs. Davidson at McCarthy Stadium
Summary – The Explorers played two 1 – 0 games over the week. They got a disappointing result losing to UMass in double-overtime. The winning goal came 46 seconds into the second extra period. However, a goal in the 17th minute by Deja Davis lifted La Salle to a bounce-back win over Davidson. Goal Keeper Katie Getzinger recorded her third shutout of the year.

PENN – 4 – 3 – 3 Overall, 0 – 1 – 1 Ivy League
Results – Tied 0 – 0 (2 OT) vs. Cornell at Rhodes Field, Lost 1 – 0 at Lehigh
Summary – In torrential conditions that forced moving the venue to Penn Park, the Red and Blue earned a scoreless tie against the Big Red. Cornell remains one of eight unbeaten teams in women’s soccer. The Quakers managed two shots on goal. In the next outing Penn out-shot Lehigh, but were goal-less again.

SAINT JOSEPH’S 6 –5 – 0 Overall, 0 – 0 – 0 Atlantic 10
Result – Lost 2 – 0 at George Washington, Lost 1 – 0 vs. Fordham at Sweeney Field
Summary – The Hawks dropped their first two Atlantic 10 conference games being held scoreless in each game. Dakota Mills registered 6 shots over the week to lead the SJU offense.
Next Game – 10/8 vs. Rhode Island at Sweeney Field
TEMPLE 8 – 5 – 0 Overall, 0 – 3 – 0 AAC
Results – Lost 1 – 0 at #20 Connecticut
Summary – Owls goalie Jordan Nash made 7 saves giving her a total of 47 for the season. One shot got by and that was the game winner for the Huskies. Paula Jurewicz had 4 shots for Temple who are looking for their first win in American play.
Next Game – 10/8 vs. Cincinnati at the Ambler Soccer Field
VILLANOVA 1 – 9 – 0 Overall, 0 – 1 – 0 Big East
Results – Lost 5 – 1 vs. Georgetown at the Higgins Soccer Complex, Lost 3 – 1 at Creighton
Summary – The Wildcats scored one goal in each of the games over the week. But Villanova gave up goals in bunches falling in both Big East games. The Cats got their goals from Christina Camassa and Amanda Vocelka. Goalie Emily Harris made 10 saves at Creighton which places her fourth all-time in school history for most saves in a game.
