Penn Upends Villanova, Donald Panciello and Justin Waston Named Ivy League Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week

PENN – Overall 1 –1, Ivy League 0 – 0

Result – Won 24 – 13 at Villanova

PennSummary – It was a history making win for the Quakers defeating the fifth-ranked Villanova Wildcats for the first time since 1911.  It was the first ever road win for Penn against a top-five opponent.  And it was the first win or head coach Ray Priore.  Linebacker Donald Panciello, who scooped up a fumble and returned it 90 yards for a touchdown  giving the Red and Blue a 24 – 7 lead late in the fourth quarter, was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week.  Wide Receiver Justin Watson played in the first half leaving the game due to injury.  However, he had five catches for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns, and was named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week.  The Red and Blue owned time of possession in the first half with a 24:25 to 5:35 advantage.

Summary – The Owls return to action with a 7 o’clock Friday night kickoff on the road at Charlotte.

#14 VILLANOVA – Overall 2 – 2, 1 – 0 CAA

Result – Lost 24 – 13 vs. Penn at Villanova Stadium
