Week One Edition September 7, 2026
Finally. Mike Kern’s first Fraud Five of the new season. Cause it’s just been too long. And of couse America insists.
So here we go.
Michigan, Michigan, Michigan … oops. Never mind. But whatever you thought of the bizarre way the Western Michigan game ended, it wasn’t remotely a good look. Hey maybe they actually got it right. All I know is I want those folks in charge timing the rest of my life. Yo.
OK, now for real.
Rutgers — Like Michigan, was favored by four touchdowns at home. Lost 37-21 to UMass. It was 30-7 at one point. Good thing Knights scored first.
Rutgers — This is the same UMass that didn’t win a game last year and hadn’t beaten an FBS team since 2023.
Rutgers — UMass rushed for 200 yards. Knights had 30.
Rutgers — UMass got paid $1.5 million to come to Piscataway.
Rutgers — For whatever reason the powers that be elected to still hold a postgame fireworks display for the maybe dozen or so people who were still there. Nice.
Dishonorable Mention
Clemson — I know LSU is real good. And was home. On a Saturday night. But 51-10? I don’t think so. Holy Dabo. Not that long ago his Tigers were playing for four national titles and winning twice, both over Alabama. Not bad. But now it’s not good. And hasn’t been. It happens.
Oklahoma State – A 14-point favorite at Tulsa. The Cowboys lost 24 – 10. Big win for the American Conference. I think.
