John Robertson Out Indefinitely

Villanova University head football coach Andy Talley announced that senior quarterback John Robertson will be out indefinitely after suffering a torn posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) in last Saturday’s 28-21 win over Delaware.  Redshirt freshman Zach Bednarczyk will replace Robertson in the starting line-up in the game against Penn on Thursday night.  In the Delaware win, Bednarczyk completed 4-of-6 for 57 yards and one touchdown, a 6 yard toss to Kevin Gulyas to bring the Wildcats to within one point.  Later a 21 yard run for a score turned out to be the winning touchdown for Villanova .

In three games in 2015, Robertson has completed 43-of-74 for 522 yards to go with three touchdowns and one interception. He also tallied 50 carries for 138 yards and three scores.  Robertson had a rushing and passing touchdown this season.  He was the Walter Payton Award College Player of the Year winner for the 2014 season.
