Temple Rallies But Could Not Get Past Navy

Result – Won 50 – 6 vs. #11 Hofstra at Villanova Stadium
Summary – The victory against the Rams was the largest margin of victory by the Wildcats against a ranked opponent since the program was restored in 1985. It was a big game by Villanova quarterback John Robertson who was honored as the CAA Offensive Player of the Week. Robertson scored on a 20-yard run in the first quarter. It was the 35th rushing touchdown in his career which placed him second in rushing touchdowns in school history. For the game Robertson ran for 61 yards, and completed 17 of 24 passes for 216 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Villanova took a 33 – 3 lead at halftime scoring 26 points in the second quarter. Wide Receiver Poppy Livers had 2 touchdown receptions of 9 and 21 yards. For the game Livers caught 8 passes for 110 yards. Austin Medley caught the other scoring toss of 16 yards. The Villanova defense chipped in with a 25 yard interception return by Austin Calitro.
In the game Wildcats posted 300 yards on the ground while holding the Rams to 18 yards rushing.Gary Underwood posted 66 rushing yards and a touchdown. Matt Gudzak had a touchdown run of 61 yards while posting 66 for the game.
The game was delayed by 1:09 due to lightning.
