Saint Joseph’s Gets An At-Large NCAA Women’s Tournament Selection

The Saint Joseph’s Hawks women’s basketball team received a bid to the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.  The Hawks were rewarded for their 22 – 9 season by earning a #9 seed from the committee, and will play in the Lincoln Regional.

SJU HAwkSaint Joe’s draws the #8 seed Georgia Bulldogs.  The game will be played in Storrs, Connecticut on Sunday, March 25 at 5:30 p.m.  The Hawks will focus on the Bulldogs.  If they win they would face the winner of the Connecticut – Prairie View winner on UConn’s home court.

The Hawks are appearing in the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season, their 13th overall.  Last year Saint Joseph’s was an automatic qualified, and was a 9 seed.  The Hawks lost to Vanderbilt.  Eight players form that game return for another post-season appearance.
