Villanova has been selected chosen to play in the 2014 Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). The Wildcats will host Quinnipiac on Wednesday, March 19 at 7 p.m. in a first round game.
Villanova finished with a 22 – 8 record this season, and it will be the program’s 12th postseason appearance in the last 15 years. Five times the Wildcats have gone to the NCAA Tournament, and seven to the WNIT.
A win over Quinnipiac, and Villanova will advance to the second round and play the winner of the East Carolina/George Washington game.
Quinnipiac earned an at-large bid to the WNIT and enters play in the tournament with a 21-12 overall record. The Bobcats went 14-6 in the MAAC and finished fourth in the regular season standings.
