Villanova Ends A Three Game Losing Streak

PENN – Overall 4 –4, Ivy League 3 – 2

Result – Lost 38 – 26 vs. Princeton at Franklin Field

Summary – The Red and Blue got off to a 16 – 0 lead and took a 23 – 17 into halftime.  Penn would only score 3 more points.  Defensively, they could not contain the Princeton offense.  The Quakers did not help their cause by turning the ball over six times.

Next Game – November 16 vs. UCF at The Linc

#20 VILLANOVA – Overall 5 – 5, 4 – 3 CAA

Result – Won 45 – 0 at Rhode Island

Summary – Villanova got the bounce-back win they wanted defeating Rhode Island on the road 45 – 0.  The game was the last of four of five road games for the Wildcats.  The Blue and White scored on their first four possessions and six of seven in the first half to take a commanding 35 – 0 lead at halftime.  The offense was led by quarterback John Robertson who ran for 133 yards on 12 carries, and set the school record for rushing yards by a quarterback with 2,262 career rushing yards.  Robertson scored four touchdowns.  Running back Kevin Monangai had the other two touchdowns.  Mark Hamilton ended the scoring with a 22 yard field goal.  Defensively, the Wildcats limited the Rams to just 88 yards of offense.  Nova posted 517 yards of total offense, 338 on the ground.  Villanova has a week off before The Battle of the Blue against Delaware at PPL Park.
