The Fraud Five by Mike Kern – Week 11 in College Football

November 9, 2025 –

And yes, Indiana and Oregon came real close. Which of course almost never counts. My list, my rules.

Louisville — Ranked 18th, favored by 18 at home against Cal.  Lost 29-26. At least Cards took it to overtime.

Virginia — Another ACC fiasco. Lost at home to Wake Forest, 16-9. Line was only 7. So maybe somebody had an inkling  It is, after all, that time of year. But cavs were ranked 14.

Washington — Ranked 23rd, favored by 10 at Wisconsin. Lost 13-10.

Florida — It’s maybe OK to lose at Kentucky, even as a slight underdog. But 38-7?  Where’s Urban Meyer when you need him?

Florida State — I know Noles stink. So does Clemson. Noles lost on road, 24-10. They will soon be next big-time team looking for a new coach. Clemson had not won at home in two months.

Dishonorable Mention:

Oregon State — Beavers really stink. Still, they were favored by three touchdowns versus visiting and winless Sam Houston State. They lost 21-17 despite outgaining SHS 474 yards to 157. Visitors had just eight first downs but scored two second-half TDs on special teams. And so first-year coach Phil Longo got his first win since November 12, 2005, when he was at LaSalle. Can’t make that up.
