Mike Kern’s second Fraud Five. Just home from Myrtle Beach
Florida — Can’t be losing to South Florida at home on a late field goal. Was favored by 17. Scored 16. Gators were undisciplined. And not coached well. Bad combo.
Kansas State — shouldn’t be losing to Army at home. On a late touchdown. An Army team that had lost at home to FCS Tarleton State. Cadets were 6 of 7 on fourth downs and had four scoring drives of 13 plays or more.
Arizona State — You’re the defending Big 12 champ. Mississippi State was worst team in SEC last year. Bulldogs had lost 16 of last 17 vs Power Four competition. They won on a 58-yard TD pass with 30 seconds left.
Oklahoma State — I know Oregon was favored by a million. But 69-3? It was OSU’s biggest loss in over a century. Good thing Ducks didn’t feel the need to score any more after first 45 minutes. But nine different Ducks made it into the end zone.
Oregon State — Go Big 2. It’s a minor violation but it was that kinda week. Lost to Fresno State at home 36-27. Despite outgaining visitors by 210 yards. But Beavers were 0-for-4 on two-point conversions. It happens.
See you next week when inbeaten Temple hosts Oklahoma and Villanova goes to Penn State.
