The Fraud Five by Mike Kern – Week One in College Football

Mike Kern’s First Fraud Five of the Season. All the way from Myrtle Beach. Cause I Couldn’t Resist.

Alabama — Nick Saban’ s replacement has been there for 14 games. He’s now lost four times to unranked teams. Not good. But the good thing it’s still early. Or maybe that’s a bad thing?

Texas — it’s certainly ok to lose at Ohio State. Especially after Lee Corso picked the Buckeyes in his ESPN finale. But maybe you should score more than just a late touchdown in a revenge spot with the Heisman fave.

Clemson — it’s ok to lose to LSU, even at home. But maybe you should score more than 10. With another Heisman hopeful

Boise State — probably shouldn’t be losing 34-7 at South Florida.

Army — probably shouldn’t be losing at home to FCS Tarleton State.

Dishonorable mention —

UCLA — shouldn’t be losing 43-10 to visiting Utah. Just don’t know if anybody out there cares any more. Oh well!

I’m sure I missed a few others. Lucky for them I’m preoccupied by the golf, beach and pool. It happens. Will try to do better next time. And away we go. And by the way, why was Florida playing Long Island University anyway? Just sayin. Hey, the Gators aren’t the only ones. But I didn’t even know LIU played the sport. Silly me. Maybe it can join the Pac 2 soon. Wish me well on the ride home up I-95.
