Mike Kern’s Fraud Five – Week 4 Edition

Mike Kern’s Fraud Five

Miami — Can’t be losing at home to Middle Tennessee, 45-31. Or by mostly any score, really. And maybe not the week after you held your own at Texas A&M. Or, maybe that’s part of the reason why this happened. Still no excuse.

Oklahoma — I know Kansas State ain’t bad. But when you’re ranked sixth you probably shouldn’t be losing at home to these Wildcats, who are coming off a loss to Tulane. Or any Wildcats.

Boise State — Was favored at UTEP. By a bunch. Lost 27-10. That’s not the Boise State we used to know. And appreciate.

Eastern Michigan — I realize EMU ain’t all that either. But Buffalo is supposedly one of the worst teams anywhere. Still, the final was 50-31. At EMU. Not acceptable.

Colorado State — This is the kind of shape Steve Addazio left the program in. I know Sacramento State is one of the best teams in FCS. But you still shouldn’t be losing to them at home. At least not by 41-10.

Michigan State – It’s sort of ok to lose at home to lose to Minnesota as a slight dog. But 34 – 7? I don’t think so. Especially so soon after you gave your coach all that money. Just saying.

Dishonorable Mention

East Carolina — This one’s for my man Jon Jansen, who loves Bojangles. Nothing wrong with that. But Navy just isn’t good any more. Still, the Mids found a way to win on the road, in overtime. And please don’t try to tell me that it happens.
