The Saint Joseph’s Hawks receives the number three seed in the upcoming Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Championship. In the semifinals the Hawks will meet #2 Lock Haven, the leaders in the Atlantic 10 Northern Division. The games are slated for next weekend at Cary Street Field, the home site for the VCU Rams.
The three-time defending champion Hawks qualified after a critical win over UMass on Saturday at Ellen Ryan Field. Saint Joe’s lost their only A10 game this season to Lock Haven 1 – 0 in a shootout, the first conference loss since 2017.
Southern Division leader VCU enters the tournament unbeaten in the league and as the top-seed plays the #4 Richmond Spiders in the semifinal round on Friday. The winners meet for the title on Saturday at noon.
