The Atlantic 10 Conference has announced their seeds and schedule for the Air Force Reserve Women’s Basketball Tournament which will be played from March 10 – 14 at the Siegel Center in Richmond, the home court of VCU.
The La Salle Explorers have earned the #8 seed and will play #9 Duquesne. The Saint Joseph’s Hawks got the #10 seed and meet the #7 UMass. Both games are in the second round on Thursday, March 11. La Salle tips off at 11 AM while Saint Joe’s plays at 5 PM.
La Salle has split the season series with Duquesne with each team winning on the other team’s court. The Explorers won 67 – 63 in Pittsburgh on January 17. The Dukes took a 74 – 70 decision on Friday at the Gola Arena.
Saint Joseph’s won the only meeting with UMass 76 – 69 in Amherst.
Both Philly schools avoided playing in the first round games on Wednesday, March 10.
The Quarterfinal round is scheduled for Friday, March 12, with the semifinal and final rounds taking place over the next two days. La Salle is in the upper bracket, and a win against Duquesne would pit them against the top-seeded Dayton Flyers in the quarterfinal round. Saint Joseph’s is in the lower bracket. By defeating Massachusetts the Hawks would play the second-seeded Fordham Rams.
