CHESTER, PA. 6/4/2016 – The Saint Joseph’s Hawks began pool play with a win over Navy 22 – 12 in the CRC Sevens Chmpionships at Talen Energy Stadium. Aram Keshgegian led the Hawks with two tries on the day.
Navy began the scoring and with the conversion took a 7 – 0 lead in the first half. Keshgegian got his initial try, but the missed conversion had SJU trailing 7 – 5 in the first half. Tom Curivan put the Hawks ahead for good with a try and conversion at the 1:34 mark of the first half. SJU would add another try at the end of the first half by Brendan Shields for a 17 – 7 advantage.
Keshgegian scored the only try of the second half for Saint Joe’s with 4:11 to play. Navy closed out the scoring with 13 second on the clock.
Saint Joseph’s is 1 – 0 in Pool C play. Later today, the Hawks face Army and Arizona.
