PHILADELPHIA, PA. 4/4/2012 – Drexel head women’s basketball coach Denise Dillon has been given a multi-year contract extension to remain coach at Drexel University. Drexel Athletic Director Dr. Eric Zeller made the announcement, but no contract details were disclosed.
“We are excited to announce that Denise is staying at Drexel for years to come,” said Zeller. “She has brought the program to another level and has put Drexel on the map in the world of women’s basketball. We look forward to her continual success in the upcoming years.”

Dillon completed her ninth year as head coach and became the schools all-time leader in Division I victories. This past season Dillon set the mark with victory number 145 against Old Dominion. Dillon’s teams have made postseason play in the past four consecutive years, once in the NCAA and three in the WNIT. In 2009 Dillon led the Dragons to 24 wins and defeated James Madison to win the schools only CAA Championship and its first NCAA appearance.
Dillon has won the CAA Coach of the Year Award in 2005 and 2009. As a coach she has led the
Dragons to five consecutive winning seasons.
