The 2011 football schedule for the Temple Owls features seven home games including a game with Penn State on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Lincoln Financial Field. The Cherry and White open the season with city rival Villanova on Thursday, September 1 in the third annual Mayor’s Cup game.
This season marks the fifth for the Owls in the MAC Conference. Eight conference games are on the schedule. The four home games are against Toledo, Buffalo, Miami of Ohio, and Kent State. Temple visits Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, and Ohio University. The MAC Championship game is scheduled for Friday, December 2 in Detroit.
The non-conference schedule in addition to Villanova and Penn State features a road trip to Maryland, and a home game against Army. The games against Ohio, Miami of Ohio, and Kent State are nationally televised games.
