Maddy Siegrist Named Player of the Year

The PhillyCollegeSports.com All-Philly Area Division 1 Women’s Basketball Awards and Teams for the 2021-22 Season.

Player of the Year – Maddy Siegrist, Villanova – Siegrist led the Villanova Wildcats to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. She was named Player of the Year in the Big East and was a unanimous first team honoree in the conference. The junior forward led the league in scoring at 27.9 points per game in Big East games which set a conference record in scoring average. Overall Siegrist averaged 25.3 points per game which ties her for second place overall in scoring. The Poughkeepsie native reached the 30-point mark in 6 of her last 14 games, and nine this season. Siegrist recorded 12 double-doubles. She scored in double figures in all of her 27 appearances. Siegrist ranks 3rd on the Villanova all-time scoring list with 1,815 points and 6th in all-time rebounds at 761.
