Ali Sanders Named as La Salle Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach

La Salle hired Ali Sanders as an assistant women’s basketball coach in an announcement made on July 15 by Coach Mountain MacGillivray. She brings a variety of skills in recruiting, scouting, and video coordination to 20th and Olney.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work at La Salle under Coach Mountain,” Sanders said. “The program is headed to new heights and I look forward to teaching and mentoring these amazing young women each day.”

Sanders served as the Penn State Director of Video and Recruiting Operations. . She was directly responsible for opponent scouting. Sanders had a role in international recruiting for the Lady Lions.

Prior to her stint in State College Sanders served as the video coordinator at Marquette. She also was part of the presentation and recruiting teams. She spent two seasons at the University of Florida assisting in practices, recruiting, scouting, and working on the creative side with graphics and videos.

Sanders is a summa cum laude graduate of Southeastern University earning a degree in secondary biology. She was the captain of the basketball team that won the Sun Belt regular season and tournament title.

“We are really excited to have Ali join our staff,” said MacGillivray. “She adds skills and a perspective to our staff that will really make us better. Our players will really enjoy learning from Ali and the energy she is going to bring to our team.”

She joins Chris Day and Gillian Abshire as assistants on the coaching staff. The Explorers will have three seniors and two juniors on the squad in addition to four sophomores and four freshman.
