PhilllyCollegeSports.com Women’s College Basketball Awards

The annual PhillyCollegeSports.com Women’s College Basketball awards for the 2018-19 season are announced. This year there are Co-Players of the Year; Bailey Greenberg of Drexel and the University of Pennsylvania’s Eleah Parker. Our Co-Coaches of the Year winners are Mike McLaughlin of Penn and Drexel University’s Denise Dillon. Keishana Washington from Drexel is the Rookie of the Year and Princess Aghayere was named the Most Improved.

Players of the Year

Bailey Greenberg, Drexel – The Dragons junior forward concluded her season by being named the CAA Player of the Year. She averaged 17.2 points per game, and had 20-plus points in 10 games. The North Wales resident led her team in scoring 24 times and made a team-best 47.4% of her field goal attempts. Greenberg was also the leading rebounder for Drexel with 7.2 each game, and played the most minutes with 1,136.

Eleah Parker, Penn – The sophomore center lead the Quakers in scoring, and rebounds getting 15.6 points per game and just under 9 rebounds. For her efforts the Charlotte, NC resident was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year. She blocked an average of 3.26 blocks per game and was ranked second in the nation in that category. Parker has 88 career blocked shots, second in program history. She has scored in double figures in 23 consecutive games.
