The La Salle Explorers unveiled its 2023-24 season non-conference schedule. In the second year under Coach Fran Dunphy the Explorers will play 13 non-Atlantic 10 teams highlighted by being in the Big 5 Classic, participation in the Blue Devil Challenge, and a road game at Miami.
Big 5 Games
La Salle opens its Big 5 schedule on November 7th when they host Drexel in a pod game. In the second city series game the team travels a few miles south on Broad Street to play Temple. The city series schedule culminates on December 2nd at the Big 5 Classic at the Wells Fargo Center. La Salle and Saint Joseph’s are scheduled to play one another, but not as part of the new Big 5 format.
The National Power Foes
The Blue Devil Challenge has the Explorers as part of the field. La Salle hosts Bucknell (11/14) and Southern Indiana (11/18) before moving on to play Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium on November 21st. This will be the first road game of the season for LSU and the team will meet for the fifth-time ever, the first since 1983.
December 16th has La Salle in Coral Gables, FL to play the Miami Hurricanes. The teams last took the floor against one another in 2018.
There are two ACC teams on the 2023-24 schedule.
Other Non-Conference Games at the Tom Gola Arena at TruMark Financial Center
Also on the docket on 20th and Olney Avenue are games vs. Northeastern University (11/11), Coppin State (11/26), and Loyola Maryland 12/6). The non-conference home schedule concludes with games against Rosemont College (12/21) and Howard (12/30).
La Salle and Lafayette play in Easton on 12/9.
The Atlantic 10 schedule will be published in the near future.
