Players of the Week – Kayla Spruill, La Salle and Keishana Washington, Drexel –
Spruill led the Explorers to a big Atlantic 10 win over Fordham in a rescheduled game at Rose Hill. She led La Salle with a team-high 24 points, 4 shy of her career-high, and 10 rebounds. This was her season-high in scoring and made field goals with 8.
Washington scored a game-high 33 points at Charleston, her third career game getting 30 or more points. It was the fourth consecutive game getting 20 or more for Washington. She scored a team-high 19 points in the overtime win at UNCW.

Games of January 3 – 10, 2022
Drexel (10 – 2, 2 – 0 CAA) – Won 61 – 60 at College of Charleston, Won 71 – 68 (OT) at UNCW
Noteworthy – Drexel got back to playing games, their first since December 14 when they hosted Yale. The team won a CAA opener thriller at Charleston on a last second basket by Mariah Leonard. At UNCW the game went into overtime as Kate Connolly sank a baseline jumper. The Dragons prevailed in the extra 5 minutes. Keishana Washington led the team in scoring in both games. Over the weekend series Leonard took down double-digits in rebounds in each game getting 12 and 13. Tessa Brugler posted her 6th double-double of the season averaging 15 points and 12 rebounds. This was the 21st straight win for Drexel over UNCW.

La Salle (8 – 5, 1 – 0 Atlantic 10, 1 – 0 Big Five) – Won 71 – 62 at Fordham
Noteworthy: In a quick reschedule La Salle travelled to Fordham. While at Rose Hill the Explorers ended an 8-game losing streak to the Rams in their A10 season opener behind the play of Spruill. Amy Jacobs added 14 points, while Molly Masciantonio contributed 10 points and 6 rebounds. La Salle limited Fordham to 35% shooting, while hitting 44.6% of their own. The Rams came into the game ranked 49th in the Net Rankings.

Penn (6 – 7, 1 – 0 Ivy League, 0 – 3 Big Five) –
Noteworthy: Penn games at Cornell and Columbia were postponed.

Saint Joseph’s (4 – 9, 0 – 1 Atlantic 10, 2 – 1 Big Five) –
Noteworthy: In a quick reschedule Saint Joseph’s travelled to VCU. The Hawks fell behind early, staged a rally, but ultimately fell to the Rams in the conference opener. Lovin Marsicano set a career-high scoring 23 points on 9 of 14 shooting, 4 of 7 from beyond the arc. Talya Brugler scored 19 points and tied her career-mark with 8 rebounds.
Next Game: January 12 vs. Richmond at the Hagan Arena
Temple (6 – 6, 1 – 0 American, 1 – 1 Big Five) – Won 75 – 68 at Cincinnati
Noteworthy: The frontcourt duo of Mia Davis and Alexa Williamson led the Owls with 23 points and 20 respectively in the conference opener. Williamson took down 8 rebounds while Davis pulled down 7 boards. Aniya Gourdine handed out a game-high 10 rebounds and a team-best 7

Noteworthy: Villanova games against UConn and Georgetown were postponed.
