Week of September 3 – 10, 2012 Games
LA SALLE 3 – 1 – 1
Results – Lost to Bucknell 2 – 1, Tied Lafayette 1 – 1 both at home
Summary – Bucknell scored 2 goals in 42 seconds to move in front by 2 – 0. The goals were scored by CK Kumah and Josh Plump in the 58th minute. Nick Becker scored for LaSalle with the assist to Kameron Teel in the 69th minute.
LaSalle’s Joe Farrell scored the game tying goal off a rebounded shot by Mike Stanton with just 34 seconds left in regulation. The game ended in an overtime draw. Lafayette scored in the 22nd minute on a goal by Kyle Scharfenberg. LaSalle had 3 shots in overtime to none for Lafayette, but the Explorers could not put the game winner in the net.
Next Game – at Lehigh 9/12
PENN 0 – 4 – 0
Results – Lost to Air Force 2 – 1, Lost to Hartford 2 – 1 both at home
Summary – The host of the Penn Classic dropped both games to Air Force and Hartford by identical 2 – 1 scores. Both games were decided by late goals by the visitors. Sam Engs got his first career goal against the Air Force while Travis Cantrell tallied in the 90th minute against Hartford. Engs was named the Philadelphia Soccer Six Rookie of the Week.

SAINT JOSEPH’S 3 – 4 – 0
Result – Lost to Kentucky 2 – 0, Lost to Stony Brook 2 – 0 both at the UK Invitational
Summary – Saint Joseph’s played good defense but could not overcome a 20 – 2 shot disadvantage against Kentucky in the opening game. The Hawks gave another solid defensive effort against Stony Brook but gave up 2 late goals resulting an another 2 – 0 defeat.

VILLANOVA 4 – 1 – 0
Results – Won vs. Hartford 2 – 1, Lost to Air Force 1 – 0 at the Penn Classic
Summary – Villanova trailed 1 – 0 at halftime but broke through for two 2nd half goals by Will Cason and Oscar Umar to beat Hartford 2 – 1 at Penn Park. However, the Wildcats could not put the ball into the net against Air Force despite have a 25 – 13 shots advantage losing 1- 0. The Air Force scored a goal by Brian Klazura. The loss broke the Wildcats four game winning streak. For his efforts Umar was named the Philadelphia Soccer Six Player of the Week.

DREXEL 2 – 1 – 1
Results – Won 1 – 0 vs. Lehigh at Vidas Field
Summary – The Drexel men’s soccer team kept the momentum going after a strong road trip to Colorado, opening its home season on Friday night with a 1-0 victory over Lehigh. Drexel put together an impressive all-around performance, out shooting the Mountain Hawks 15-1. Ken Tribbett recorded his first goal of the season, scoring the game’s lone goal in the 63rd minute to provide the final margin. Defender Tal Bublil played a solid game on the back line and was named the Philadelphia Soccer Six Defender of the Week.
